. . .Much Cooler Weather Headed Our Way. . .
Louisiana Tornadoes: Yesterday we dodged the bullet with severe weather here in Baton Rouge. However, parts of western Louisiana were not as lucky. Three EF-0 tornadoes were confirmed just to the west of Lafayette. The first was in Lake Aurthur, then the same storm dropped another tornado in Jennings where is crossed I-10 and tipped over an 18-wheeler. Lastly, the same storm dropped a third tornado near Elton where damage was done to 15 homes. For more information, click here.
Short Term: The cold front has moved well off to the east of Louisiana, and the skies are clearing this morning. It is getting colder as temperatures are down to the mid 50s. 
The skies will totally clear out by this afternoon, and it will be a beautiful day. An area of high pressure will build toward the Deep South and this is what will clear us out. It will be a cooler and less humid day with highs around 70.
Expect to see clear skies tonight, and it is going to get chilly! Lows will be down to the upper 40s. Be sure to dress warmly if you are headed out tonight. Those that are going to the high school football games bring your warm jackets! Kickoff temperatures will be in the mid 60s and will be around 60 at the end of the game.
Weekend Forecast: The area of high pressure will sit over us on Saturday. We will have a chilly morning, so those of you headed out to tailgate be sure to have some warm clothes! We will have sunny skies and just a gorgeous afternoon! High temperatures will be in the lower 70s as northeast winds move over us.
Kickoff weather for the LSU vs. Auburn game will have clear skies and temperatures in the upper 60s. By the end of the game, it will cool down to the upper 50s. You will want that warm jacket or sweatshirt for the game!
Saturday night will be chilly with clear skies and lows in the mid 40s. Please be careful if you are using any space heaters. Be sure to keep everything away from them so nothing catches on fire!
More pleasant weather will greet us on Sunday with sunny skies. It will be a little warmer since the winds will come out of the east. Highs will be in the mid 70s.
Next Week Forecast: Another cold front will move through on Monday night/Tuesday. The clouds will increase on Monday along with the humidity. Isolated showers will pop-up with high temperatures in the upper 70s. Some showers will continue on Monday
night with lows in the upper 50s.
The cold front will move through on Tuesday, and we will still have some showers around along with a few thunderstorms. It will remain warm with highs in the upper 70s.
We will not see a cool-down with this cold front on Wednesday. It will actually be warmer with the southerly winds remaining. Highs will be in the lower 80s with partly cloudy skies.
Even another cold front will be moving toward Louisiana on Thursday. This one will be stronger, and scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected. It will be warm and humid with highs in the lower 80s. Some of the storms could become strong, so we'll have to keep an eye on this front.
The front will be to the east of us on Friday, and the storms will come to an end. We will gradually clear out the skies by Friday night. Highs will be down to the lower 70s with lows in the mid 50s.
Tropical Update: There is a weak trough of low pressure at the surface stretching between Cuba to the Bahamas. It is slowly moving toward the WNW with no significant development. There is a low chance, less than 30%, of this system become a tropical cyclone over the weekend.
Elsewhere. . .the tropics are quiet, and tropical cyclone formation is not expected through Sunday.
