Weekend Update

Believe it or not, it’s been a month since measurable rainfall has been recorded at Baton Rouge Metro Airport. Although we could see a few showers and thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon, the wet weather will once again be the exception and not the rule. Like today temperatures will top out in the mid to upper 90s. On Monday we will finally get some relief from the heat and possibly even the drought. A cold front will stall out across South Louisiana and bring numerous showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. By Tuesday that front will retreat to the north, but we could still see a few storms pop up during the heat of the day. Although it will still be hot on Monday and Tuesday, it won’t be as bad as we’ve seen lately with highs only making it into the lower 90s.

Tropics

The weather remains quiet throughout the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico and tropical storm formation is not expected over the next 48 hours.
