Short Term:  Mostly clear skies, and cool temperatures are greeting us on this Thursday morning.  Lows will be in the upper 50s, so you might want that light jacket as you head out the door.

This afternoon will be full of sunshine, and some warmer temperatures.  An area of high pressure is going to be sitting just to the north of Louisiana today, and that will bring us the sunny skies with comfortable humidity levels.  Northerly winds will usher in the less humid air.  It will be a warmer day with highs in the lower 80s.

Tonight will be mostly clear, and cool again.  Low temperatures will fall into the upper 50s.  You will be able to keep your windows open tonight!

Weekend Outlook:  Friday will be another beauty with mostly sunny skies as that area of high pressure still sits near us.  It will be a little warmer with highs in the mid 80s.

That area of high pressure will slide to the east on Saturday, and that will cause the winds to shift from the north to the east.  As this happens, the humidity levels will begin to increase, and the skies will become partly cloudy.  It will be very warm with highs in the upper 80s.  The humidity levels will continue to increase Saturday night, and low temperatures will be warmer too as the only fall into the mid 60s.   On Sunday look for partly cloudy skies, and very warm temperatures climbing into the upper 80s.  It will be time to put that A/C back on!

Next Week Outlook:  The next cold front is expected to move through on Wednesday.  At this time, the forecast models are only showing isolated showers ahead and along the cold front.  It will remain warm and humid with highs in the mid 80s.  It is possible that this front will stall to the north of Baton Rouge as a strong area of high pressure sits over the Gulf.  If this happens, then we will remain warm and humid on Thursday.

Tropical Update:  The tropics are quiet, and tropical cyclone formation is not expected through Friday.
