Short Term:  Edouard is now over Waco, Texas and spreading some much needed rain over central Texas.  The rain bands are not over us anymore, and we are starting this morning off with mostly clear skies.  It is not as warm as yesterday morning with temperatures in the lower 70s.

An area of high pressure will be sitting over us this afternoon, and that will mean our rain chances will be low.  It also means that we will heat things back up!  You can expect partly cloudy skies with only isolated thunderstorms this afternoon.  The chance for rain will only be around 20-30%.  Our temperatures will soar into the mid 90s, but the Heat Index will be around 100 to 105.

Tonight, any showers will dissipate, and we will be left with mostly clear skies.  It will be warm and muggy with lows in the mid 70s.

Rest of the Week:  That area of high pressure will slide to the east tomorrow, but we will still have a hot day.  Isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible, otherwise it will be partly cloudy.  The chance for rain will be around 30%.  High temperatures will remain in the mid 90s.

Some relief to the heat will come on Friday, and last into the weekend!  A rare cold front will sweep across the Southeast U.S. on Friday.  This will set off scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms over us.  Some of these storms could be strong to possibly severe at times.  The main threats would be damaging winds and hail.  Heavy rain is also possible.  High temperatures will be around 90.

On Saturday and Sunday, the cold front will become stationary, and stall along the coast.  A few upper-level disturbances will move along the front, and this will help to set off scattered thunderstorms both days.  We will have partly cloudy skies when it is not storming.  High temperatures will be in the lower 90s.

Tropical Outlook:  Edouard is now a Tropical Depression, and will continue to move over Texas.  It is bringing the state some much needed rain and relief to the 100 degree heat!  The storm made landfall around 7:00 AM Tuesday between High Island, TX and Sabine Pass, LA with winds of 65 mph.  There was some minor damage, and rainfall totals ranged from 4 to 7 inches across Texas.  Needless to say, Edouard is no longer a threat as it continues to weaken.

Elsewhere, there are a few tropical waves moving across the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), and they will not develop into anything.  Therefore, tropical cyclone development is not expected through Thursday.
