Weather Discussion

Short Term Forecast

It was another sunny morning followed by an afternoon of stormy weather, but today’s wet weather was caused by a different source.  Over the last four days our afternoon storms were brought to us by a series of weak upper level disturbances that were ejected by an upper level low over the western Gulf of Mexico .  Today’s storms were triggered by a cold front that moved in from the north.  Scattered showers and thundershowers will linger into tomorrow morning or early afternoon.  The clouds will start to break up tomorrow afternoon as temperatures rebound into the upper 80s.  By tomorrow night the sky will be clear and temperatures will drop off into the upper 60s in the wake of that cold front.  Tuesday’s weather will be pleasant.  Temperatures will manage to climb into the lower 90s, but the humidity will be much lower and that will make for a more comfortable day.  Look for more of the same on Wednesday, with plenty of sunshine, highs in the lower 90s and low humidity.

Long Term Forecast

On Thursday the weather pattern will begin to change.  Once again a large area of high pressure will park itself just to our east.  This will set us up with southerly winds which will cause our humidity and rain chances to increase Thursday through next weekend.

Tropics

The weather remains quiet throughout the Tropical Atlantic, the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico and tropical storm formation is not expected over the next 48 hours.
