Weather Discussion

Weekend Update

For the fourth day in a row we started the morning with sunshine and by the afternoon the weather turned stormy.  Tomorrow we can expect to see more of the same.  A weak frontal system will move in from the north and bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to the area by the afternoon.  Occasional showers will continue tomorrow night and into Monday morning before finally pushing off to the east.  By late Monday afternoon we will finally get a break from the wet weather and the sun will break through the clouds.

Lightning Safety Week:  This week, June 22-28th, is Lightning Safety Week!  Always remember this saying, "When Thunder Roars, Go Indoors!"  For more very important information in Lightning Safety, click here

Tropics

The weather remains quiet throughout the Tropical Atlantic, the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico and tropical storm formation is not expected over the next 48 hours.
