Short Term Forecast
It is going to be a typical summer day across
South Louisiana
. Once again we are waking up to sunshine, high humidity and temperatures in the mid 70s. By afternoon clouds will increase and scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop and become widespread across the area. A persistent flow out of the
Gulf of Mexico
and several upper level disturbances will keep us in this unsettled weather pattern through Saturday.
Long Term Forecast
There will be a slight change in the weather pattern on Sunday, but it will barely be noticeable. The upper level through in the jet stream that will bring us scattered showers and thunderstorms through Saturday will move into the
Great Lakes
. This won’t eliminate our rain chances, but will cause the wet weather to become a little less widespread Sunday through the middle of next week. So what does all of that mean? Today through Saturday our rain chances will around 50-60% each afternoon. Sunday through next Wednesday they drop to about 30% during the afternoon. High temperatures will hold steady in the lower 90s over the next seven days. Lows will range from the low to mid 70s.
