Short Term:  A weak cold front will move across Louisiana this morning, and this is going to give us mostly cloudy skies.  There are a few showers along the front, and a few of them could make their way across the Baton Rouge area.  Most of you will remain dry, but those north of Baton Rouge have the best chance of seeing any rain.  It is warm and muggy with temperatures in the lower 70s.

That cold front will be off to the east of us by this afternoon, but it will not truly make its way through Baton Rouge.  It will fall apart as is moves to the east.  Any showers that develop will be out of here by the late afternoon hours.  Otherwise, we can expect some hazy sunshine, making it seem partly sunny.  Winds will only shift from the south to the southwest.  This will not cool us down at all.  It will actually heat us up!  High temperatures will be in the upper 80s.

Tonight, the skies will be mostly clear to partly cloudy.  It will be warm and there could be some patchy fog.  Lows will be in the upper 60s.

Weekend Outlook:  On Friday, high pressure will be sitting near us, and southwesterly winds will be ushering in hot air.  This will make it partly cloudy to mostly sunny with high temperatures in the lower 90s!  The record high on Friday is 91 set back in 2003, and it is very likely that we will at least tie it!

On Saturday, the hot and humid weather will continue to greet us with mostly sunny skies.  High temperatures will be in the lower 90s once again.  The record high on Saturday is 92 set back in 2003.

The forecast for Sunday will give us a little relief from the heat.  A cold front will be sweep across the state, and give us some isolated showers and thunderstorms.  Some of the storms could be strong with gusty winds and heavy rain.  However, only about 30-40% of the area will actually get the rain.  Temperatures will be a few degrees "cooler" with highs in the mid 80s.

Next Week Outlook:  Some less humid air will follow the cold front, but we will still remain warm.  Monday through Wednesday will be partly cloudy with highs in the mid 80s.
