. . .Tornado Watch in effect until 11:00 AM. . .
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch for the entire Channel 2 viewing area until 11:00 AM.
An intense squall line of thunderstorms is moving across our viewing area this morning. Some of the storms are Severe with the main threats being damaging winds in excess of 60 mph, large hail, and a few tornadoes. Intense lightning is also associated with this line of storms. These storms
are coming from a strong cold front that will move through later this morning.
We are in a Slight Risk for severe weather across the Baton Rouge area. Click on the image to the right to see the latest from the Storm Prediction Center.
The bulk of these storms will be out of the Baton Rouge area by mid morning, and then we will have some light to moderate rain to follow the intense line. We will then see the clouds decrease by the afternoon, and it will make for a nice day. Temperatures will be in the lower 80s, but the humidity levels will be falling behind the cold front as high pressure builds in.
