Short Term: It is a little more comfortable this morning compared to the last few as some drier air has moved over the city. This is
giving us partly cloudy skies, and cooler temperatures in the lower 60s. The humidity levels are lower, so it is not as muggy either. However, that will change later today. . .
We will have a similar day to yesterday with partly sunny skies and warm temperatures. It will be a little more humid as more moisture returns to the region ahead of a weakening cold front. Overall, it will be a nice day with high temperatures in the mid 80s.
Tonight, the clouds will continue to increase along the dissipating cold front. There is also a chance for a few showers overnight. Low temperatures will be in the mid 60s.
Weekend Forecast: The first cold front will wash out by Saturday, but it will have just enough energy to set off scattered showers and thunderstorms across the viewing area. Only about 40-50% of the area will see the rain, and it will not be an all day rain event. Some of the storms could be strong. It will still be quite warm with highs in the lower to mid 80s.
On Sunday, a second, much stronger, cold front will move through Baton Rouge. This front will have plenty of moisture to work with, and scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected for just about everyone in the viewing area. Some of the storms could be strong with gusty winds and hail. However, the hail will not be as big as it was earlier this week. The temperatures will be cooler as they only climb into the upper 70s.
The cold front will move through by Sunday night, and that will put an end to the rain. It will be much cooler and less humid as the low temperatures fall into the mid 50s!! That will be SO nice!
Next Week Outlook: The pleasant and less humid air will linger into Monday and Tuesday of next week. We will have partly cloudy skies each day with highs on Monday in the mid 70s and lows around 50! This will be a welcome cool down! Tuesday will be slightly warmer with highs around 80.
The partly cloudy skies will continue throughout the week, but it will become warmer and more humid. Highs will be in the lower to mid 80s, and low temperatures will be in the 60s
