Short Term: We begin the day with mostly cloudy skies, and some patchy fog across the viewing area. Visibility has been getting
pretty low in a few spots this morning, so please be careful if you run into the fog. It is also pretty muggy with temperatures in the upper 60s.
This afternoon will be another unseasonably warm one. We will have partly sunny skies, but the rain chances will be much lower today. We will have a more stable air mass in place, but I can't totally rule out one or two pop-up storms. The chance is only for about 10% of the viewing area. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s.
Tonight, we will have some clouds sticking around, and we could have some fog once again. It will remain warm and muggy with lows in the mid 60s.
Weekend Outlook: On Friday, we will once again have a partly sunny day, and the rain chances will remain low. The temperatures will be very warm with highs in the mid to upper 80s once again.
On Saturday, a weak cold front will be stalling just north of Baton Rouge. This front will be just close enough to set off scattered showers and thunderstorms over us. Some of these storms could be strong to possibly severe. High temperatures will be in the mid 80s.
That cold front will wash out by Sunday, but a second cold front will be moving through town. This second front will have a bigger impact than the first one. We will once again have scattered showers and thunderstorms, and these could also be strong to severe. It will be a cooler day with high temperatures in the upper 70s.
Next Week Outlook: Once the second cold front moves through, cooler and less humid air will greet us to start the new week. Look for partly cloudy skies on Monday with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the mid 50s. The partly cloudy skies can be expected each day through Thursday with highs in the lower 80s and lows around 60.
