WEATHER BLOG

Weather Discussion

  • By CHRIS STEVENS

A Quiet Start to the Week

Yesterday temperatures failed to make it out of the 60s. Today we just barely missed out on hitting the 80 degree mark. Tomorrow we will make it back over the hump as temperatures top out in the low to mid 80s under a mostly sunny sky. Tuesday’s weather will be a carbon copy of tomorrow with plenty of sunshine and highs in the 80s.

An Unsettled Second Half

The second half of the workweek won’t necessarily be stormy, but as a frontal system moves in from the west our weather will turn a little more unsettled during the afternoon hours. Isolated showers and thundershowers will be possible Wednesday afternoon as cold front will position itself just to our north. This front will not actually push through South Louisiana so temperatures will stay warm. On Thursday that cold front will slide off to the east and another one will move in from the west. This could trigger a few more showers late Thursday. This second cold front will roll across the News 2 viewing area Friday afternoon and will set of a more widespread rain event. High pressure will build in behind this front and bring sunshine and cooler temperatures next weekend.
