Short Term Forecast
It was another warm and humid day across South Louisiana. Heavy rain and severe thunderstorms fell across the northern part of the state, but just about all of us across the News 2 viewing area stayed dry. The cold front that triggered scattered thunderstorms yesterday afternoon lifted to the north and as a result that’s where all of today’s storms developed. That cold front will continue to retreat to our north tomorrow. That will lead to another day of heat, humidity and relatively dry weather.
Extended Forecast
Another cold front will develop to our northwest on Monday, and on Tuesday it will make its way into the northwestern part of the state. This will bring periods of rain and thunderstorms Tuesday, but the front will wash out before making its way into the southern part of the state. Another warm front will lift across the Southern US on Wednesday. As a result the unseasonably warm weather will last through the end of the week with highs holding steady in the lower 80s. On Friday we could see another round of wet weather as yet another cold pushes into the Bayou state. This front will actually make it through our area and drop our high temperatures back down into the mid 70s by next weekend.
