Good Friday
Short Term: It is another chilly morning across the Baton Rouge area. High pressure is sitting just to the east of us, and that is keeping the skies clear. Temperatures are in the lower to mid 40s.
You can expect a gorgeous afternoon across much of the Southeast U.S. We will have a day just like yesterday, but it will be a bit warmer! The area of high pressure will be moving to the East Coast, and this will allow for southerly winds to return to Louisiana. These winds will warm us up into the mid 70s.
Tonight, we will have a few clouds popping up, so we'll call for mostly clear skies. Due to the few high clouds, our temperatures will not be a chilly as the low only falls to near 50s.
Easter Weekend: Overall, the weekend looks to be fantastic! A weak cold front will move across the Deep South on Saturday, but we are not expecting any rain with it. We will have partly cloudy skies, and it will be warm with highs in the upper 70s.
On Easter Sunday, we will have a cool start to the day, and cooler temperatures in the afternoon in the wake of the cold front that will move through on Saturday. The Sunrise Services will be a bit chilly with temperatures in the upper 40s, but by the afternoon we will have a mix of clouds and sun with highs in the upper 60s. On Sunday night, a second cold front will move over us. This front could set off a few
showers. Lows will be in the lower 40s.
I want to wish you and your family a Happy Easter!!!
Next Week Outlook: High pressure will build in behind the second cold front. This will make way for beautiful weather on Monday. Sunny skies are expected, but it will be cool with highs in the mid 60s. On Tuesday, southerly winds return, and it will be warmer with sunny skies. High temperatures will be in the lower 70s.
The pleasant weather will continue on Wednesday and Thursday with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid and upper 70s. The next chance for rain will be on Thursday night and into Friday as another cold front moves through. It will set off scattered showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s on Friday.
