First Day of Spring!
Short Term: Spring officially began at 12:48 AM this morning, however, it feels more like winter than
spring outside! We have clear skies in the wake of the cold front that moved through yesterday. Temperatures have fallen to the mid and lower 40s across the viewing area.
This afternoon will be a beauty! You can expect to have plenty of sunshine as an area of high pressure moves over Louisiana today. This will also give us some northeast to east winds, and these winds will make it very comfortable. High temperatures will be around 70.
Tonight, we will once again have clear skies, but it will be chill again. Low temperatures will fall to the lower 40s.
Easter Weekend: That area of high pressure will continue to move to the east on Good Friday. This will give us more sunny skies, but the temperatures will warm up! Highs will be in the mid 70s as the winds come back out of the south.
On Saturday, we will have a few more clouds around as a weak cold front moves across the area. This front will be a dry one, and don't expect any major changes once it moves through. Highs will be in the mid 70s.
Easter Sunday looks to be a nice day, but clouds will be increasing as the day goes on. A second cold front will be moving across the area, and this front will have some moisture to work with. Due to the moisture in place, we could see a few showers popping up during the late afternoon, and overnight into
Monday. It will be cooler than Saturday as the high temperatures will only get to around 70.
Next Week Outlook: If you are lucky to have a long weekend for Easter, then you will like the extended outlook! On Monday, high pressure will build back across the Deep South. However, we are expecting to have a cool, more winter-like day. The skies will be sunny, but highs will only be in the mid 60s. We will quickly warm back to the 70s by Tuesday and Wednesday, and both days will be mostly sunny!
