WEATHER BLOG

Weather Discussion

Short Term Forecast

What a perfect weekend! Both days we were able to enjoy sunshine and high temperatures in the 80s. Tomorrow a warm front will lift across the state and bring windy conditions and two more days of 80 degree weather. In addition to being warm, strong southerly winds will help pull in humid air from the Gulf of Mexico.

Extended Forecast

On Wednesday morning a cold front will race across the state and trigger showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night and early Wednesday. Some of these storms will have the potential to turn severe, so we will be monitoring them very closely here in the Channel 2 Weather Center. Cooler air will move in behind this cold front and on Wednesday afternoon high temperatures will only rebound into the upper 60s to lower 70s. High pressure will race back into the region on Thursday and will bring us a clear sky all the way into the first half of next weekend. Afternoon temperatures will hold steady in the mid 70s Thursday through Saturday.
