WEATHER BLOG

Weather Discussion

  • By CHRIS STEVENS

Weekend Update

It was sunny and unseasonably warm today for the ‘Wearin’ of the Green’. The high temperature in Baton Rouge this afternoon was 86 degrees which was just two degrees short of the record. A cold front will slide across the state this evening and will cause our humidity and temperatures to drop off significantly overnight. Low temperatures across South Louisiana will drop off into the low to mid 50s by tomorrow morning. By afternoon we will recover into the mid 70s. The irony is that even with the passage of this cold front, temperatures will still be a few degrees above average tomorrow.

On Monday another warm front will lift across the News 2 viewing area and that will bring us a windy day with highs back in the lower 80s. The 80s won’t last for long because another cold front will roll through late Tuesday and bring slightly cooler temperatures and stormy weather Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
