Short Term:  We begin this Wednesday morning off with mostly clear skies, but there are some areas of patchy fog.  Otherwise, it is a cool start with temperatures in the lower to mid 40s.

This afternoon we will see a warm-up!  An area of high pressure will be moving over us today.  This will make for a beautiful day with plenty of sunshine.  Southwesterly winds will return to the area as well, and that will provide us with the warmer temperatures.  High temperatures will be in the lower 70s.

Tonight, we will have clear skies, and it will be a bit cool still.  The mercury will fall to a low in the upper 40s.

Rest of the Week:  The pleasant weather will continue on Thursday, but we will see a few more clouds around.  With the high pressure to our east, southerly winds will remain in place.  These winds will transport in some more moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, and that will give us partly cloudy skies.  It will still be warm with highs in the mid 70s.

On Friday, a disturbance will move out of Texas, and across the Deep South.  This short wave will tap into the moisture over us, and that will set off scattered showers.  A few thunderstorms will be possible as well.  It will still be warm with highs in the upper 70s.

Weekend Forecast:  We are getting ready for a nice weekend here in Baton Rouge!  There will be plenty of sunshine even though a cold front will move through our area.  On Saturday, we will have partly cloudy skies, and it will be unseasonably warm with highs around 80!  If you are headed to the "Wearin' of the Green" St. Patrick's Day parade then plan for perfect weather.  You may actually want to wear shorts with the 10 AM start time temperatures around 70, and afternoon temperatures around 80!

On Saturday night, the cold front will move across Louisiana.  However, we are not expecting any rain with this front.  You will notice it will be a bit cooler with lows in the lower 50s.  This will lead to a nice day on Sunday with sunny skies, and cooler highs in the lower 70s.
