Monday Severe Weather:  We did have quite a few warnings and watches across our viewing area yesterday.  There were even some reports of tornadoes.  One possible tornado in Amite County, MS in the town of Liberty where trees were down, one home destroyed, and several homes were damaged.  Another possible tornado was near Tylertown, MS, or near Lexie.  Elsewhere, mainly trees were down, and minor damage was reported.

Short Term:  We are starting off this Tuesday morning off with cloudy skies, and breezy conditions.  It is also much colder than yesterday morning.  Temperatures are in the mid to upper 40s verses the 60s!

This afternoon will become quite nice, and pleasant.  The clouds will decrease, and we will have partly cloudy skies.  It will be much cooler as high pressure settles over the Deep South.  This will give us northerly winds, and these winds will usher in the cool temperatures.  Highs will only be in the mid 50s.  Be sure to grab your jacket as you head out today!!

Tonight, we will just about clear out the skies, and it is going to be cold!  Low temperatures will fall to the lower to mid 30s.  Some areas in southern Mississippi will have a light freeze.

Week Ahead:  The area of high pressure will move to the east of Louisiana on Wednesday, and this will shift the winds from the north to the southeast.  These southerly winds will help to warm us back up.  We will have sunny skies tomorrow, but it will be warmer with highs in the upper 60s.

On Thursday, we will keep the seasonal temperatures around, but we will be watching another cold front head toward us.  Ahead of it we will see clouds increase, and a few showers will develop late in the day.  Temperatures will climb to the upper 60s again.  On Thursday night/Friday morning the cold front will move through Baton Rouge.  It will set off scattered showers and a few thunderstorms.  However, we are not expecting severe weather with this front.  Friday will be cooler and mostly sunny with highs in the upper 50.

An early look into the weekend will call for mostly sunny skies, and it will be mild with highs in the 60s.
