WBRZ to Broadcast High School Football Special
WBRZ will broadcast “Friday Night Blitz Preseason Special”, an hour high school football show, beginning at 7pm on Friday, August 21, 2009.
The “Friday Night Blitz Preseason Special” will cover high school football teams across South Louisiana. WBRZ Sports 2 will give you their picks for which schools they think will play for state championships. The show will break down the local districts and preview more than 50 area schools fighting their way to the dome.
This special will replay on sister station WBTR, which airs on Cox 19 and over-the-air on Channel 41. Viewers should check their local cable companies to see if WBTR is carried in their area. Viewers should also check for additional rebroadcast dates and times. Below is the date and time of the first rebroadcast:
- Saturday, August 22, 2009 4 - 5pm
In addition to this special, WBRZ will broadcast “Friday Night Blitz” every Friday night during high school football season. Each show will consist of highlights from around the area, coach’s interviews and a recap of the week’s winner of the WBRZ Fans’ Choice Award. The first broadcast for the regular season show is Friday, August 28th at 10:35pm.
The “Friday Night Blitz Preseason Special” will be hosted by WBRZ Sports Director Michael Cauble, weekend anchor Chad Sabadie and reporter Kristen Eargle. The special is sponsored by Team Automotive Group, Ralph Sellers, Manda Fine Meats, Cox Communications, Turner Industries and Bayou Buick Dealers.
