WBRZ is pleased to announce a High Definition first for the Capitol City area. Viewers can now enjoy WBRZ weather graphics in High Definition. “We are proud to be the first station in southeast Louisiana to bring this exciting new technology to viewers,” said Rocky Daboval, General Manager of the station. “Now viewers will be able to see TrueView Weather in a way they never have before.”

Viewers will be able to see their weather with crystal clear clarity. But along with that, the new High Definition system will provide WBRZ with the most advanced hurricane tracking tools in Baton Rouge, as well as the fastest severe weather warning system. “We strive to provide clarity in our weathercasts,” said WBRZ Chief Forecaster Pat Shingleton. “High Definition weather will enhance our clarity and compliment each forecast. These new graphics are more than just something nice to look at. We now have the best tools in place to keep people better informed and safe.”

This is just the latest in HD programming offered by WBRZ. Viewers can enjoy 2une In along with WBRZ News 2 at Noon, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00 and 10:00 in High Definition. With state of the art HD studio cameras already in place, these High Definition weather graphics are just another step toward the total HD experience. “It’s great to be able to bring this type of quality product to our viewers and advertisers,” Daboval said.

WBRZ began the digital process on April 22, 2002, when the station became the first local commercial television station to broadcast programming in Digital TV on WBRZ-DT.

“WBRZ has always been the pioneer of broadcast technology in Louisiana,” said WBRZ President Richard Manship. And as the only locally owned and operated television station in Baton Rouge, the HD weather graphics will provide viewers with a noticeable improvement. “The switch to HD represents a significant investment in our community,” Daboval noted.

Along with the latest technology, WBRZ’s Pat Shingleton offers the most weather experience in Baton Rouge with more than 30 years of service. Together with meteorologists Dave Nussbaum and Chris Stevens they form the WBRZ weather team.

For more information on HD, viewers can visit the WBRZ-HD page at www.2theadvocate.com. Viewers can see WBRZ TrueView weather on Cox Cable Channel 18, Cox Cable Channel 125, Eatel Cable Channel 18 and over-the-air Digital Channel 2.3.
