Q: What happened to Mike the Tiger and Lacumba the Jaquar?

    A: A. University mascot Mike IV currently is being housed at the Baton Rouge Zoo while LSU builds his new multi-million dollar habitat and visitor center. He is scheduled to return for visits during football season, when his habitat is complete. For more information on Mike's new habitat, visit www.mikethetiger.com. LaCumba II, the Southern University live jaguar mascot, passed away in January. The university is working on plans to build a new jaguar habitat and replace LaCumba with a new jaguar.

    A: A. Louisiana law permits the sell of both beer and hard alcohol in almost all gas stations and supermarkets. Baton Rouge has very few stores that sell only liquor and most residents buy their wine and spirits while at the supermarket.

Baton Rouge also has two mall locations, The Mall of Louisiana, off I-10 Essen Lane exit, and the Cortana Mall, about 2 miles off the 1-12 Airline Highway exit.
