Lori Steele is the 4pm news anchor and a general assignments reporter. She joined WBRZ on June 23, 2008.

A Duson, Louisiana native, Lori graduated from Acadiana High School. She attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she received her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications.

Lori says “I shadowed a reporter in Lafayette in high school and was ‘hooked.’ I have been doing what I love ever since.”

Before coming to WBRZ, Lori began her career in 1999 at KLFY-TV in Lafayette. She started as a general assignments reporter, moved to weekend anchor, and then co-hosted the morning show, “Passe Partout,” for 8 years.

Lori has won several news awards throughout her career. She has won the Hearst Award for Journalism, an AP Award for Spot News coverage, and won numerous ‘popular anchor’ contests while at KLFY-TV.

Lori currently resides in Denham Springs and is married to WBRZ’s Mike Steele. She has one daughter Abrielle and one stepson Michael, Jr. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, watching old movies, and traveling.
