Mike Steele is WBRZ’s Capitol Correspondent. He joined the WBRZ news team in February of 2008.
A Baton Rouge native, Mike attended Bethany Christian School, after which he received a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from Southern University.
Mike began his career as a Weather Forecaster/Anchor for KLAX-TV in Alexandria and later worked as a reporter, editor and Weekend Anchor for KLFY-TV in Lafayette before coming to WBRZ.
Mike says, “I was always fascinated by the news industry. Even when I was very young, I always appreciated accurate and fair reporting.”
In his spare time, Mike enjoys playing and watching sports (especially golf), and deer hunting. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, WBRZ’s Lori Steele, and his two children, Michael, Jr., and Abrielle.
