Central, Denham Springs claim CCSL titles

Central High and Denham Springs High were the team champions at Tuesday’s Capital City Swim League meet held at the Crawfish Aquatics pool.

DSHS scored 115 points to win the four-team girls division ahead of Central with 92 points.   Meanwhile, Central tallied 117 points to edge DSHS (115) in the five-team boys division.

The meet featured three double winners: Jesse Haltom of Denham Springs in the girls division and two boys from Central, Tony Prejean and Nicholas Polk.   Haltom won the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 15.93 seconds and also won the 100 butterfly in 1:12.43.

Prejean won the 100 (53.65) and 500 (5:20.04) freestyle events, while Polk won the 200 freestyle (2:10.29) and the 100 breaststroke (1:06.61).
