Redemptorist sweeps Baker in first-round matchup

Amber Shelly had 13 kills, three aces and eight digs to lead Redemptorist to a sweep of Baker (25-21, 25-16, 25-13) in the first round of the Divison III-Class 3A volleyball playoffs Wednesday.

Other Wolves leaders were Jacquelyn Pecquet with six digs and four kills and Megan Gauthier with three digs, four kills and 22 assists.

Baker was led by Erika Laflore with 10 kills and 13 digs while Treonna Webb had four digs and 15 assists.

PARKVIEW BAPTIST 3, ALBANY 0: In other Division III-Class 3A action, the Eagles swept Albany 25-6, 25-0, 25-5.

Fayette Adelaja led PBS with 20 kills and 14 aces while Chelsey Cormier had three aces and 17 assists.

Albany’s Nicki Whest had four assists and Paige Davis had three kills.

Division IV-Class 2A

DUNHAM 3, PORT ALLEN 0: Caroline McKey had 12 kills and two aces to lead Dunham to the sweep (25-11, 25-12, 25-11).

Dunham also got three kills, four aces and 11 assists from McKenzie Griffin.

Division V-Class 1A, B,C

ST. JOHN-PLAQUEMINE 3, WEST ST. JOHN 1: Lauren Poirrier had 17 kills, three aces and four digs in the four-game win (25-21, 25-19, 23-25, 25-24).

St. John’s Macy Williams had seven blocks and Jessie Brown had seven kills and two aces.
