Breaux's 3 TDs spark Donaldsonville

Devon Breaux passed for a career-high 209 yards and three touchdowns, leading seventh-ranked Donaldsonville to a 30-16 victory over Episcopal on Friday night.

Breaux completed 8 of 10 passes, including two TD tosses to Jarrett Cole, who finished with six catches for 116 yards in the District 7-2A game played at EHS.

An ankle injury kept the Tigers’ top rusher, Bryant Dunn, on the sidelines. Shaqueel Babin (66 yards on 21 carries) and Breaux (63 yards on 20 carries) picked up the slack.

Episcopal (5-4, 1-4) was led by Jared Rogers, who rushed for a game-high 67 yards on 12 carries and scored two touchdowns.

The Knights held a 16-8 first-quarter lead before Donaldsonville roared back with 14 second-quarter points, including Breaux’s 66-yard TD pass to Antonio Smith.

REDEMPTORIST 28, NORTHEAST 0: In Pride, Jeremy Hill ran for 200 yards on 21 carries and scored two TDs to pace second-ranked RHS (7-1, 3-0) to a District 7-3A victory.

Hill scored on second-half runs of 20 and 50 yards in the second half of the game played at Northeast. Corey Trim added 73 yards on eight carries and had a 6-yard TD run for the winners, who finished with 292 rushing yards.

Darren Ellis ran for 67 yards on 10 carries for Northeast (2-6, 0-4).

CATHOLIC-PC 21, ST. EDMUND 0: In New Roads, host CHSPC (5-4, 2-1) notched a key win in District 5-1A, with help from Forest Cazayoux and David Lorio.

Cazayoux rushed for 120 yards on 22 carries and scored on a 6-yard run.

Lorio completed 10-of-17 passes for 175 yards, including a 68-yard TD pass to Tanner Olinde. He also scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter to close out the scoring.

Adam Wimberly had 59 rushing yards on 15 carries for St. Edmund (3-5, 2-1).

COMEAUX 10, WESTGATE 6: In New Iberia, Comeaux (5-4, 1-2) held off Westgate to claim a road win in District 4-5A.
