Acadiana, Westminster victorious

BREAUX BRIDGE — Josh Pillard scored three touchdowns as the eighth-ranked Acadiana Wrecking Rams cruised to a 37-14 non-district win over Breaux Bridge on Friday night.
Pillard scored on a pair of 3-yard runs and a 1-yard run as Acadiana (7-2) jumped out to a 23-0 first half lead. Ryan Bergeron added a 30-yard scoring run in the third quarter for Acadiana.
Hunter Landry threw an 82-yard scoring pass to Layne Theriot and scored on a 1-yard run for Breaux Bridge (5-4). The Tigers were plagued by five lost fumbles and an interception.
WESTMINSTER 41, NORTH CENTRAL 6: In Opelousas, Aaron Shamp ran for 112 yards on 10 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns as Westminster Christian Academy, the sixth-ranked team in Class 1A, improved to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in District 5-1A with the win over North Central (0-9, 0-4).
Shamp scored on runs of 12 and 9 yards while Thomas Kemp scored on 1 and 14-yard runs. Tyler Louviere added a 17-yard TD run and Sam Bowers returned an interception 8 yards for the other Westminster scores.
Jamal Doucet threw a 26-yard pass to Jerome Wilson for the only North Central score.
RAYNE 12, ERATH 6 (OT): In Rayne, Tyler Venable connected on a 10-yard pass to Scott Curtis in overtime to give Rayne its first win of the season.
After a scoreless first quarter, Erath (3-6, 0-4 in District 5-3A) took a 6-0 lead on a 49-yard run by Cole Bourque.
Rayne (1-8, 1-3) tied the game in the fourth quarter on a 32-yard run by Tre Leon.
Rayne won despite two interceptions and three lost fumbles.
OAKDALE 27, RINGGOLD 8: In Oakdale, Damian Ward and Lance Hardman each scored a pair of touchdowns as Oakdale took the non-district win.
Ward finished with 179 yards on 13 carries and scoring runs of 34 and 13 yards. Hardman scored on 1 and 4-yard runs.
PINE PRAIRIE 6, IOTA 2: Jacoby Merritt scored on a 10-yard run in the second quarter and Pine Prairie held off Iota.
