Belaire second in 7-on-7 tourney

METAIRIE — Belaire High School finished second in the New Orleans Saints’ section of the NFL’s Junior Player Development Seven-on-Seven Tournament last week.
The Bengals won five straight games before losing 33-23 to McDonogh 35 in the final of the event held at the Saints practice facility.
BHS players who participated included Kyle Boudreaux, Maurice Dyson, Eugene Cummings, Josh Roberts, Ralph Porter, James Savoy, John Jackson, Ronald Davis, Brandon Nettles, Jarvis York, Byron Ennis and Kelton Green.
Belaire is the second local team to excel in the Saints seven-on-seven event in as many years. Capitol High Academy won the event in 2008.
Demons add Roussel
Ex-Redemptorist linebacker Bradly Roussel has transferred from the University of Washington to Northwestern State.
Because Roussel is moving to from a BCS school to a FCS school, he will be eligible immediately.
Roussel was a three-time all-state performer for the Wolves.
Former Central High quarterback Tyler Wolfe transferred from Louisville to Northwestern.
Job opening
Live Oak High is looking to hire an running backs-receivers coach who is certified to teach social studies or biology.
The Eagles are also seeking a CECP certified volunteer to coach to work with the ninth-grade football squad.

Questionnaires needed
The Advocate sports staff is still seeking a large number of football questionnaires for the 2009 season from local-area schools. The deadline to submit questionnaires is July 6.

Football officials meeting
The Baton Rouge Area Football Officials Association is seeking new officials.
