TURKEY-PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED/YOUTH HUNTER WEEKEND: March 17-18, statewide, private lands.
TURKEY-AREA A: March 24-April 22. Gobblers only. Daily limit 1. Season limit 2.
TURKEY-AREA B: March 24-April 15. Gobblers only. Daily limit 1. Season limit 2.
TURKEY-AREA C: March 24-April 8. Gobblers only. Daily limit 1. Season limit 2.
LICENSED HUNTING PRESERVES: Statewide through April 30.
SQUIRREL: May 5-27, statewide, private lands only. Daily limit 3. Season limit 6. Dogs allowed on limited season on seven wildlife management areas.
2007-2008 SEASONSThe major change for the 2007-2008 hunting seasons is the new deer tagging program instituted by the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission. All deer hunters will have to obtain tags and affix the tags to all deer taken in the state.
DEER-ARCHERY: Sept. 15, opening day, Deer Areas 3, 8.
DEER-ARCHERY: Oct. 1, opening day, State Deer Areas 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7.
DEER-ARCHERY: Oct. 1-15, opening day, State Deer Area 6. Bucks only. Regular season, Oct. 16, opening day, Area 6 for either-sex season.
SQUIRREL/RABBIT: Oct. 6, opening day. Statewide.
DEER-MUZZLELOADER: Oct. 13-19, Areas 3, 7 and 8; Oct. 20-26, Area 2; Nov. 3-9, Areas 4 and 7; Nov. 10-16, Areas 1, 5 and 6; Nov. 26-30, Areas 3 and 8; Dec. 26-Jan. 1, Area 5.
DEER-MODERN FIREARMS: Still-hunt only: Oct. 20-Nov. 2, Area 7; Oct. 20-Nov. 25, Areas 3 and 8; Oct. 27-Dec. 7, Area 2; Nov. 10-25, Area 7; Nov. 10-Jan. 6, Area 4; Nov. 17-Dec. 7, Areas 1 and 6; Nov. 23-Dec. 9, Area 5; and, Dec. 1-Jan. 6, Area 3.

Note: Migratory bird season will be set by state Wildlife and Fisheries Commission in July. Migratory waterfowl seasons will be set by the LWFC in August.
