DEER-MODERN FIREARMS: Today, final day, State Deer Areas 4 and 7. Still-hunt only.

DEER-MODERN FIREARMS: Today, final day, State Deer Area 1. With or without dogs.

DOVES-South Zone/North Zone: Through Monday, third split.

CANADA GEESE: Jan. 10-25. Special license required.

DEER-MODERN FIREARMS: Through Jan. 11, State Deer Areas 2 and 8. With or without dogs. Either-sex season.

DEER-MODERN FIREARMS: Through Jan. 11, State Deer Area 3. Still-hunt only. Either-sex season.

DEER-ARCHERY: Through Jan. 15, State Deer Areas 3 and 8. Either-sex season.

DEER-MODERN FIREARMS: Through Jan. 18, State Deer Area 6. With or without dogs. Either-sex season.

DUCKS-West Zone: Through Jan. 18, second split.

DUCKS-East Zone: Through Jan. 25, second split.

GEESE-East Zone: Through Jan. 25, second split.

GEESE-West Zone: Through Jan. 30, second split.

GEESE-CONSERVATION ORDER Limited to snow, blue and Ross’ geese. No limit. Electronic calls, unplugged shotguns allowed. Hours one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset.
East Waterfowl Zone:

Jan. 26-March 8.
West Waterfowl Zone:
Jan. 31-March 8.

DEER-ARCHERY: State Deer Areas 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7, through Jan. 31. Either-sex season.

WOODCOCK: Through Jan. 31, statewide.

DEER-ARCHERY: State Deer Area 6, through Feb. 15.

SNIPE: Through Feb. 27, second split, statewide.

SQUIRREL, RABBIT and QUAIL: Statewide, through Feb. 28.

SPRING SQUIRREL: May 2-24, private lands only. Daily limit 3. Possession limit 6. Closed on Kisatchie National Forest lands, all national wildlife refuges and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lands. Open May 2-10 (with or without dogs) on 43 Department of Wildlife & Fisheries state wildlife management areas.

March 28-April 26.
Area B:
March 28-April 19.
Area C: March 28-April 12.
Youth and Physically Challenged Weekend: March 21-22, private lands only.

QUAIL: Nov. 21, opening day, statewide, through Feb. 28, 2010.

DEER-ARCHERY: Sept. 19-Jan. 15, Deer Areas 3 and 8. Either-sex seasons.

DEER-ARCHERY: Oct. 1-Jan. 15, Deer Areas 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7. Either-sex seasons.

DEER-ARCHERY: Oct. 1-Jan. 15, Deer Area 6; bucks only through Oct. 15; either-sex season through Feb. 15, 2010.

DEER-PRIMITIVE WEAPONS: Either-sex seasons except where noted:
Areas 1 and 6: Nov. 14-20 and Jan. 25-31, 2010.
Area 2: Oct. 24-30 and Jan. 18-24, 2010.
Areas 3 and 8: Oct. 10-16 and Nov. 30-Dec. 4.
Area 4: Nov. 7-13 and Jan. 4-11, 2010.
Area 5: Nov. 14-20 and Dec. 26-Jan. 1, 2010 (bucks only).

No “dog” season in Areas 3, 4 and 5.

NOTE: 2009-2010 migratory bird and migratory waterfowl seasons will be announced at respective July and August meetings of the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission.
