LSU men's tennis tops Miss. State

The 32nd-ranked LSU men’s tennis team completed its match against 69th-ranked Mississippi State on Monday morning, claiming a 4-2 victory in the Southeastern Conference match.
LSU (8-10, 3-7 SEC) and Mississippi State sat tied at 2-2 on Sunday when the match was delayed because of inclement weather with two matches left unfinished.
At the time of the delay, freshman Neal Skupski led Mississippi State’s Antonio Lastre 4-2 in the second set on court four after dropping the first set 7-6.
On court six, LSU senior Jonathan Tragardh held a 3-3 match with Tanner Stump after splitting the first two sets with the 6-1 Mississippi State sophomore.
Tragardh took his match, finishing with a 7-5 mark in the third set.
Lastre led Skupski 4-3 in the third set when Skupski posted the next three points to take his court and clinch LSU’s 4-2 victory over Mississippi State.

Former Mt. Hermon coach Cook dies
MT. HERMON — W.C. Cook, a former teacher and highly-successful boys basketball coach at Mt. Hermon High School from the mid-1950s to the early 1980s, died Monday morning at his home.
Cook, 76, coached 27 years at Mt. Hermon, which competed in Classes B and C in the Louisiana High School Athletic Association. He later coached for five more years at Valley Forge Academy, Bowling Green and Silliman of the Louisiana Independent School Association.
