No tickets remain for Hogs
Tickets for today’s LSU-Arkansas game sold out Friday afternoon, LSU officials said. It’s the second straight sellout for LSU, with last Saturday’s 80-70 loss to Xavier also getting sold out. However, there were empty seats for the Xavier game as the sellout reflected tickets sold and not actual attendance.
It’s the first time since 1999-2000 that LSU sold out Pete Maravich Assembly Center for consecutive games. Those Stromile Swift-led teams sold out consecutive games against Arizona, Auburn and Kentucky.
LSU is expecting more than 125 former players to be in attendance for the halftime announcement of LSU’s All-Century team, the top players of its 100-year history.
The other game’s free
LSU will also have an Alumni Game for past players at 12:30 p.m. Admission to that game is free. There will be a concert and centennial celebration outside the arena at Tiger One Village leading up to the 4 p.m. game.
‘Disturbing’
LSU coach Trent Johnson was asked for a reaction to the firing of Georgia coach Dennis Felton earlier this week, the second mid-season firing of an SEC coach this season. Alabama’s Mark Gottfried was fired last week.
“I’m not the one to ask,” he said. “You’ll have to ask the people who are making these decisions. But it is disturbing. These were good coaches.”
Johnson got his job after a mid-season firing. LSU fired John Brady last season and Johnson got the job after the season.

Who’s hot: Marcus Thornton is averaging 30 points per game in the last three games for LSU. Chris Johnson is averaging 10.8 rebounds a game in conference games only. Who’s not: The bench. LSU has just 12 bench points in its last two games. … LSU is 14-1 at home this season. Arkansas is just 1-3 on the opposing team’s home floor. Its upset wins over Texas and Oklahoma were both at Fayetteville, Ark.
… LSU will visit Fayetteville Feb. 18.
