4:40 p.m. -- It'll be Harvey

OMAHA, Neb. -- North Carolina folks tell me freshman right-hander Matt Harvey, the scheduled starting pitcher last night, will be on the mound when LSU comes to bat in the bottom of the first inning of the suspended game that resumes shortly after 6 tonight.

Harvey, who is prone to giving up walks (but not home runs), will have a lead. How big a lead? We'll see.

Alex White, the winning pitcher Sunday night against LSU, will be rested and waiting in the wings.

More in a bit.

5:45 update: This is a good move by Mike Fox. Harvey was (and is) the starting pitcher on the lineup card of a game that is technically under way (and has been for almost 24 hours), so if Fox switched to another pitcher before the resumption tonight, Harvey would not be able to come in later in the game. This way, he can let the freshman pitch with a lead and have White ready, just in case.

Game is just around the corner.
