LSU’s three home runs Friday give the Tigers 82 this season, more than double LSU's 2007 total of 40. Matt Clark and Blake Dean hit solo shots, giving LSU 40 solos in its last 65 home runs.
The Tigers have more solo home runs (47) this year than total home runs (40) last year.
Dean’s three-run homer continued a late-season improvement by the Tigers in three-run shots. They hit four three-run homers in their first 49 games and now have hit six in their last 12 games.
Six of the last 19 home runs have been three-run homers. Twenty-two of the 82 home runs this season have been two-run homers. Three have been grand slams.
