Austin Ross got the lead batter in the top of the ninth inning, but back-to-back singles to right field delayed what LSU fans were waiting for -- the end of the game.
Ross got the second out on a strikeout, a called third strike, and he ended it with a strikeout on a swinging strike.
LSU wins 12-1 to advance to the winners-bracket game at 6 p.m. Saturday against the winner of tonight's 6 o'clock game between Southern Miss and UNO.
