LSU BASEBALL BLOG

5:28 p.m. -- It's 13-2

Matt Clark led off the bottom of the seventh with a double. D.J. LeMahieu's single put Clark at third, and LeMahieu advanced to second base on a wild pitch. Clark, who does not have good speed, held his ground.

He stayed at third on Leon Landry's fly ball to center field, but he after a Ryan Schimpf walk, he scored. Michael Hollander drove in Clark with a ground ball to first base for the second out.

That made LSU's lead 11-2 and led to another pitching change. Baton Rouge's Forrest Moore is the new relief pitcher.

Pinch hitter Nicholas Pontiff (batting for Jared Mitchell) hit a ground ball up the middle and reached on an error at first base. Two runs scored, making it 13-2.

Blake Dean walked to put runners on first and second with two outs. Johnny Dishon pinch hit for Derek Helenihi and struck out.

The final five infielders on the All-Alex Box Stadium "Omaha Era" Team:

Ryan Theriot
Russ Johnson
Aaron Hill
Brandon Larson
Brad Hawpe

Pitchers will be announced tomorrow.

5:30 update: Nolan Cain replaced Blake Martin as LSU's pitcher for the start of the eighth inning. That's one of a long list of substitutions in the inning for the Tigers.
