LSU has scored in all three innings.
Jared Mitchell legged out a leadoff double in the third. Blake Dean walked on a 3-2 pitch. Derek Helenihi hit a high-bouncing ground-rule double to right field for a 12-3 lead and runners at second and third with nobody out.
Micah Gibbs made the first out by taking a called third strike. Matt Clark, who came to the plate to somewhat modest applause tonight considering the home runs he's hit lately and the big crowd here tonight, struck out swinging.
D.J. LeMahieu grounded out.
LSU 12, Mississippi State 3. The Tigers have 15 hits.
LSU just announced four of the eight outfielders on the All-Alex Box "Omaha Era" Team: Lyle Mouton, Armando Rios, Albert Belle (there were some boos), and Chad Cooley. The other four outfielders will be announced in the eighth inning, and the rest of the team will be named throughout the weekend.
