Baseball. Coaches say the game -- not necessarily the opponent -- beats you. It can get even tougher when you're trying to follow the glory days with some of your own.
Am I talking about LSU baseball? Maybe, maybe not. Click
here and find out.
I post this not to defend LSU's 6-11-1 SEC record or lower the scrutiny of the staff and players or the expectations of the program. Sometimes it's good to look at things from a different perspective, and columnists and bloggers should constantly seek ways to do just that. I'll have some analysis soon of the situation closer to home, but after reading the column linked above, I thought the baseball fans who come here would appreciate a chance to read it.
There are some interesting parallels and common ground. A program with multiple national championships and CWS appearances. A time of change (new or renovated stadium either under construction or completed). Blowing leads. Pitching concerns. To top it all off, it's happening to a team coached by a man with five national championships. Does that total ring any bells?
Anyway, just passing it along while trying to get some laundry done at home.
Oh, and to quote Les Miles, have a great day.
