LSU defensive tackle Marlon Favorite is a little too preoccupied to have his feelings hurt right now.
But he playfully admits he wouldn’t mind if his head coach would expand his popular music horizons a little.
Favorite is a member of Black Vynm, a Louisiana-based hip-hop group that has recorded several songs.
LSU coach Les Miles recently hammed it up with hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg and took a stab at some of the rapper’s lyrics.
“I got a phone call about that and then he told me he had met him and got to know him a little,” said Favorite, also known as Big Fav in the music world. “I didn’t see it on TV, but I heard Coach Miles’ singing was pretty funny. Hopefully he can get me together with Snoop after the season.”
Miles may have warmed up the often controversial Snoop Dogg, but Favorite knows where the coach’s allegiance lies.
“I think we’re still his favorite hip-hop group,” Favorite said. “We just need to teach him some of the songs.”

Junior tight end Richard Dickson said the fact that he’s switched to No. 18 this season is part of a new tradition among the Tigers.
Dickson said former LSU running back Jacob Hester, who wore No. 18 last year, asked Dickson to make the switch this year from the No. 82 he wore last season.
Turns out, former LSU quarterback Matt Mauck bequeathed the number to Hester when Jacob became a Tiger.
“Hopefully it’ll become a tradition,” said Dickson, who said he doesn’t have his eye on any potential No. 18s out there. “Hopefully I can fill Jacob’s shoes.”
