A singular talent treads the boards of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center hardwood tonight one last time.

Sylvia Fowles is giving her farewell PMAC performance.

Catch her while you can.

If you’ve been a long-time LSU women’s basketball fan, come see her play as the Lady Tigers take on Marist in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

If you haven’t been to a LSU women’s game in years, if you’ve never been to a game, even if you think women’s basketball doesn’t measure up, come see her play.

A player of Fowles’ skill and influence and gravity doesn’t come around often. In any sport. On any level.

Her future likes in the WNBA and the Olympics. Right now, present tense, she’s trying to lead LSU to a record-tying fifth straight
Women’s Final Four.

She might become the SEC’s all-time leading rebounder.

She’ll probably record her 83rd career double-double, adding to her SEC record.

She’ll definitely become LSU’s career leader all by herself in game’s played.

She might, just might, dunk a ball again, if the mood strikes her.

Come see her play.

One thing she will also definitely do. She will alter the game, bend it to her will and her imposing 6-foot-6 presence. The way she’s done it for four years. The way few, if any players, ever have.
