LSU stretched its winning streak to six games with a 5-3 victory against Michigan State at Alex Box Stadium tonight.
The Tigers survived a season-high four errors and LSU pitching stranding 14 Spartan runners on base.
Tiger reliever Daniel Bradshaw (1-0) struck out three of the four batters he faced to pick up the victory.
LSU goes for a two-game sweep of Michigan State in the series finale at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
9:49 p.m. -- Tigers back in front

Michael Hollander's two-out, two-run single broke a 3-3 tie and gave LSU a 5-3 edge.
9:35 p.m. -- Michigan State ties it
The Spartans forged a 3-3 tie with a run in the eighth inning.
Eric Roof led off with an infield single. He moved to second base on Brandon Doherty's sacrifice bunt. Dennis Jones grounded out to third base, but after Michael Hollander's throw to first base to retire Jones, Roof broke for third.
LSU first baseman Matt Clark had trouble getting the ball out of his glove, and Roof was safe at third base without a throw. Kyle Day drove in the tying run with a single to left-center field just out of the reach of shortstop D.J. LeMahieu.
Eli Boike walked on four pitches, and Daniel Bradshaw replaced Austin Ross on the mound for LSU. Michigan State pinch hitter Steve Gerstenberger struck out for the third out.
9:12 p.m. -- LSU takes the lead
LSU took a 3-1 in the sixth inning, but Michigan State cut the Tiger advantage to 3-2 with a run on two hits and a Jared Mitchell error in the top of the seventh inning. Mitchell's miscue is one of four LSU errors, a season high.
The Tigers scored two runs against the Spartans in the eventful bottom of the sixth inning at the Box. Hundreds of fans headed to the exits after the inning and will probably listen to Charles Hanagriff and Dan Canevari on the radio as they drive home.
Blake Dean opened with a walk. That prompted Michigan State coach David Grewe to replace starting pitcher A.J. Dunn with left-hander Kyle Corcoran.
Matt Clark hit a looping single to shallow left field. Matt Gaudet walked. Leon Landry hit a pop-up in front of second base for the first out of the inning.
That brought to the plate right-handed batter D.J. LeMahieu. Grewe replaced Corcoran with a right-hander, Brandon Eckerle. LeMahieu hit a 0-2 pitch into right field for a two-run single and a 3-1 lead.
Pinch runner Chris McGhee took over for Gaudet at second base after LeMahieu's single. Sean Ochinko, who replaced starting catcher Micah Gibbs in the fifth inning, grounded out to the pitcher to put runners on second and third.
With two outs, Grewe then replaced Eckerle with right-hander Kurt Wunderlich. Michael Hollander, whose second-inning error allowed Michigan State to score its run, took the first two pitches for balls.
The second hit home plate umpire Paul Guillie and sent him to the ground for a couple of minutes. After attention from trainers and others, Guillie was back up quickly to resume his duties. The next pitch hit Hollander to load the bases.
Ryan Schimpf hit a pop-up in shallow left field, and shortstop Jonathan Roof barely caught it as he lunged and fell to the ground.
