BRCC tops Loyola for fourth victory
NEW ORLEANS — Playing its fourth game in a week, the Baton Rouge Community College men’s basketball team could have suffered from fatigue.
It didn’t.
Friday night at Loyola of New Orleans, the Bears shot 53 percent from inside 3-point range and unloaded for 52 points in the second half of a 91-73 victory — their fourth in as many games.
“I think probably with the new program, if somebody would have said we’d be 4-0, they might think you’re nuts,” BRCC coach Todd Foster said. “But our kids have done a very good job. They’re starting to buy into the system and they’re playing together.”
William Nelson and Josh Washington scored 19 points apiece, while Ryan Layssard added 10.
Jacoby Ross added some strong defense, grabbing six rebounds and making four steals.
Dylan Kremer scored 17 points to lead Loyola. Corey Gray added 13.
The Bears (4-0) don’t play again until 1 p.m. Nov. 14, when they host Lamar State College-Port Arthur in the Bonne Santé Wellness Center.
BRCC WOMEN AT HOME TODAY: The BRCC women host the Houston Jaguars, a traveling team, at 2 p.m. today in the Bonne Santé Wellness Center.
