LeGrange, Schreiber earn top honors in Jack-O-Lantern 5K
Joseph LeGrange and Robin Schreiber won top honors Saturday at the Fleet Feet Jack-O-Lantern 5K.
LeGrange, 17, finished in 15 minutes, 11 seconds to win the male division. Sixteen-year-old John Legrange (17:10) and 20-year-old Jace Guerin finished second and third, respectively.
Schreiber, 31, crossed in 19:47 to win the female division. Meghan Hurst (22:04), 28, placed second ahead of 15-year-old Laura Tucker (22:48).
Masters championships were 40-year-old Troy Archer (20:05) and 46-year-old Robin Blanchard (25:36). Costume winners were Clay Foreman, 31, and Anne-Scott Pourciau, 39.
Octoberfest
In the seventh annual Mocker Beverage Octoberfest 3-mile & Half-Mile FunRun, Adam Hoogewind and Hope Phelps were the top winners.
Hoogewind, 26, won the male division of the Oct. 17 race in 14:49. Phelps, 18, won the female division in 20:10.
Masters champions were Keith Balza, 41, and Rebecca Penniman, 44. Balza finished in 17:26 and Penniman in 22:33.
Grandmasters champs were Kenny Schexnayder, 51, in 18:50 and Kathy Holt, 51, in 22:52.
Johnny Pitts, 10, and Peyton Williams, 9, were the half-mile winners.
