Tulane golfer wins women’s title at Collegiate Open
DENHAM SPRINGS — Tulane’s Janine Fellows won the women’s title and Texas-Arlington’s Cameron Hollek the men’s crown in the CPT/Greystone Collegiate Open that ended Wednesday.
Fellows, who recently completed a successful sophomore season at Tulane, had a 54-hole total of 225, 9 over par over the Greystone Golf and Country Club course.
LSU’s Abby Oberthier was second at 232, followed by Nicholls State’s Brooke Braun (235) and Baton Rouge’s Kirby Baker (236). Baker, a former St. Joseph’s Academy golfer, recently completed her freshman year at St. Edward’s College in Austin, Texas.
LSU golfer Mary-Michael Burns, who prepped at University High, finished eighth in the women’s standings with a three-day total of 256.
Hollek had a 54-hole total of 218, 2 over par, to win the men’s title by one shot over Mack Duke of Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Ala.
SMU’s Nicholas Soglanich was third at 221.
Others in the top 10 included Louisiana Tech’s Clinton Shepard (tied for fourth at 224) and Louisiana College’s Taylor Gullatt (tied for 10th at 227).
