ULL releases 2009 baseball schedule

LAFAYETTE — A season-opening, four-game series at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field with Nebraska, 26 home games and meetings with nine teams that qualified for the 2008 NCAA Tournament highlight the University of Louisiana at Lafayette 2009 baseball schedule.

The Ragin’ Cajuns will play 21 games against teams who went NCAA Tournament last season. Included are midweek matchups with 2008 World Series teams LSU (at Baton Rouge, March 11) and at Zephyr Field in Metairie (April 22) and Rice (at Houston, May 5).

The Cajuns of coach Tony Robichaux, entering his 15th season at ULL, open Sun Belt Conference play with a three-game series at Arkansas State, March 6-8.

ULL holds its annual Red-Black Fall World Series at Moore Field beginning Nov. 3.
