Henry, Miley earn LSWA honors

Infielder Seth Henry of Tulane and pitcher Wade Miley of Southeastern Louisiana were named Tuesday as the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Baseball Players of the Week.

Henry, a junior from Berwick, was named Hitter of the Week as he batted .625 (10-for-16) with a 1.125 slugging percentage on the strength of five doubles and a home run while driving in eight runs and scoring five more in Tulane’s four-game week. He had at least two hits in all four games, including three-hit performances last Tuesday night at Southeastern Louisiana and Saturday at UAB.

Henry also recorded at least one extra-base hit and one RBI in each contest. He went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBI last Tuesday before going 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and two RBI on Friday. Henry posted second three-hit game of the week on Saturday when he delivered a double and an RBI, and wrapped up the week by going 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and an RBI on Sunday.

Miley, a junior left-hander from Loranger, was named Pitcher of the Week after throwig his second complete game of the season on Friday night at McNeese State. He collected 12 strikeouts and limited the Cowboys to just one earned run on seven hits while walking two.
