Dutchtown meet full of local-area teams
Dutchtown boys track coach Chris Carrier sees the meet as an important stepping-stone for local-area teams preparing for district meets that are just weeks away. Field events start at 2:30 p.m., while running events are set for 4:30 p.m.
“On the girls side, I think you’ll get a preview of the District 6-5A meet with us and Hahnville,” Carrier said. “Of course, you’ll also have some other teams like Baton Rouge High and Scotlandville, too.
“With us, St. Amant, Donaldsonville and Scotlandville, the boys side is going to be solid. Some teams have people off for (spring) break and some other teams, like Catholic and East Ascension, are sending people to LSU’s meet, but it’s still going to be a good meet.”
Teams scheduled to compete along with host Dutchtown include BRHS, Broadmoor, Catholic, Donaldsonville, Episcopal, Hahnville, Lutcher, Parkview Baptist, Redemptorist, Scotlandville, St. Amant, St. Joseph’s Academy, St. Michael and Woodlawn.
