LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — For the second time in two days, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette had to claw its way back from a deficit as the Cajuns scored five runs in the eighth inning to edge Arkansas-Little Rock, 8-7, on Sunday at Gary Hogan Field.

ULL (9-12, 4-5 Sun Belt) clinched its first Sun Belt series sweep of the season and its second straight against UALR (4-16, 1-6). The Trojans suffered their first Sun Belt series sweep at home since 2006.

Michael Cook (3-1) earned the victory, allowing one run on three hits in 31/3 innings. Cook struck out in relief of starter Brent Solich. Justin Robichaux notched his second save in two days, retiring the last two UALR batters in the ninth inning.

Josh Logan led the Cajuns at the plate with a 3-for-4 performance and three RBIs. Tyler Benzel and Matt Hicks also went 3-for-4.

ULM 6, ARKANSAS STATE 3: In Jonesboro, Ark., the Warhawks scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning for the Sun Belt Conference win.

ULM (14-6, 7-2) has won all three SBC series this season and is 9-1 on the road. Arkansas State fell to 12-9, 4-4.

With the game tied at 3-3 heading into the final inning, ASU reliever Jordan Kimball hit the first two Warhawks batters of the inning.

Following a pitching change which brought Jett Jordan into the game, Kyle Suire put down a sacrifice bunt back to Jordan. The junior right-hander threw the ball into the Arkansas State bullpen in right field allowing Jon Prevost and Ben Soignier to score.

SOUTH ALABAMA 10, UNO 7: In New Orleans, the Jaguars put up five runs in the eighth inning to rally past the Privateers and avoid a UNO sweep.

Ryan O’Shea (0-1) gave up four hits and four runs in 1 2/3 innings to take the loss. The UNO bullpen combined to give up seven runs in three innings.

David Doss went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI for the Jaguars (12-10, 2-4 Sun Belt Conference). Ray Kruml went 3-for-6 with three RBIs, including a two-run double in the decisive eighth. Bohanan finished with three RBIs.

The UNO offense did most of its damage in the sixth, scoring five runs on home runs by Josh Vander Hey and Nick Schwaner. But the Privateers (12-8, 3-5) managed just six hits overall, with five coming in the sixth and ninth innings.

TULANE 12, SACRED HEART 0: In New Orleans, Jared Dyer, Aja Barto and Rob Segedin posted two hits apiece, and Robby Broach struck out pitched five scoreless innings as the Green Wave completed a sweep.
