UL-Lafayette tops Ark.-Little Rock, 7-6

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Louisiana-Lafayette scored in each of the first four innings, while the bullpen slammed door on Arkansas-Little Rock as the Ragin’ Cajuns came from behind to win, 7-6, on Saturday at Gary Hogan Field.

UALR (4-15, 1-5 Sun Belt) out-hit the Cajuns (8-12, 3-5 Sun Belt) 12-8, marking the second time the Cajuns won when getting out-hit.

ULL’s Danny Farquhar (2-3) gave up for 12 hits, but earned his first win since opening day.

NW STATE 9, SLU 8, 10 INNINGS: In Hammond, Southeastern Louisiana’s Ty Summerlin hit a three-run homer to cap a six-run, bottom of the ninth to force the game into extra innings, but Northwestern State scored in the top of the 10th to win.

SLU starter Rene LeBlanc allowed two runs on eight hits while striking out five and walking just two.

TULANE 5, SACRED HEART 2: In New Orleans, designated hitter Warren McFadden went 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs, and Aaron Loup struck out six in a solid seven-inning start, as Tulane (15-6) defeated Sacred Heart (1-15).

MCNEESE 8, NICHOLLS 5: In Lake Charles, McNeese State scored eight runs off of eight hits and one Colonel error to sweep the series, defeating Nicholls State.

Ryan Frantz (1-4) threw 7 2/3 innings, surrendering four earned runs on six hits and striking out four Nicohlls batters. Justin LeBleu earned his second save of the weekend.

Lance Dupuis (0-3) took the loss in 6-plus innings. Dupuis struck out a season-high seven, but allowed seven runs on six hits for Nicholls (4-16, 1-5 SLC).
